Artist Bio:
Nick Gilder is a Canadian musician and songwriter who rose to fame in the late 1970s. Born on December 21, 1951, in London, England, Gilder moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, as a child. He began his music career as the frontman for the glam rock band Sweeney Todd, known for their hit song "Roxy Roller" in 1975. Gilder gained even more success as a solo artist with his 1978 album "City Nights," which featured the hit single "Hot Child in the City." The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States in 1978, solidifying Gilder's status as a pop rock star.

Despite his initial success, Gilder struggled to replicate the same level of commercial achievement with subsequent albums. He continued to release music throughout the 1980s and 1990s, but without the same level of chart-topping success. Gilder's music has been praised for its catchy hooks and infectious melodies, making him a notable figure in the pop rock genre of the late 1970s.
