Nilsson, whose full name was Harry Edward Nilsson III, was an American singer-songwriter known for his distinctive voice and intricate vocal harmonies. He was born on June 15, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, and rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s with hits such as "Everybody's Talkin'" and "Without You." Nilsson's music spanned various genres, including pop, rock, and folk, and he collaborated with artists like John Lennon and Ringo Starr. He won two Grammy Awards for his album "Nilsson Schmilsson" in 1973, which included the popular songs "Without You" and "Coconut."


Despite his commercial success, Nilsson struggled with personal issues, including substance abuse and health problems, throughout his career. He passed away on January 15, 1994, in Agoura Hills, California, at the age of 52. Nilsson's music continues to be celebrated for its emotional depth, unique sound, and lasting influence on future generations of musicians.
