The band's founding members included Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter, and Bruce Kunkel. Over the years, the lineup changed multiple times, with members coming and going, but the band continued to produce music and tour.


The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is best known for their hit songs "Mr. Bojangles" and "Fishin' in the Dark." They have released over thirty studio albums and have earned multiple Grammy Awards and nominations for their music. The band is also known for their collaborations with other artists, most notably their groundbreaking "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" album series, which featured collaborations with country music legends like Roy Acuff, Earl Scruggs, and Johnny Cash.
