Artist Bio:
Odia Coates was an American singer born on November 13, 1941, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She was best known for her collaborations with singer Paul Anka in the 1970s. Coates and Anka released several successful duets, including "One Man Woman/One Woman Man" and "I Don't Like to Sleep Alone," which both reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.


Coates also had a solo career, releasing a few singles and albums throughout the 1970s. She continued to perform and record music until her untimely death on May 19, 1991, at the age of 49. Odia Coates left behind a legacy of soulful and heartfelt music that continues to be remembered and appreciated by fans of 70s pop and soul music.
