The Ohio Players were an American funk and R&B band formed in Dayton, Ohio in 1959. They gained popularity in the 1970s for their dynamic stage performances and their unique blend of funk, soul, and disco music. The band's lineup consisted of members such as Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner, Billy Beck, Clarence "Satch" Satchell, and James "Diamond" Williams, among others.


The Ohio Players achieved commercial success with hits like "Fire," "Love Rollercoaster," and "Skin Tight," which topped the R&B charts and crossed over to the pop charts. Their music was known for its infectious grooves, tight horn arrangements, and provocative lyrics.
