Artist Bio:
Otis Redding was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer who was born on September 9, 1941, in Dawson, Georgia. He is considered one of the greatest singers in the history of American popular music, known for his powerful voice and emotive delivery. Redding was a prominent figure in the soul and R&B genres during the 1960s, with hits such as "Respect," "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay," and "Try a Little Tenderness."

Redding's career was tragically cut short when he died in a plane crash on December 10, 1967, at the age of 26. Despite his untimely death, Redding's influence on soul music has endured, and he is often credited with helping to define the sound of the genre. He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.
