Artist Bio:
Otis Redding was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer, born on September 9, 1941, in Dawson, Georgia. He is often referred to as the "King of Soul" due to his powerful and emotive vocal delivery. Redding gained popularity in the 1960s with hits such as "Respect," "Try a Little Tenderness," and "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay."

Redding's career was tragically cut short when he died in a plane crash on December 10, 1967, at the age of 26. Despite his premature death, his music continues to be influential and is considered a cornerstone of soul music. Otis Redding was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.
