Artist Bio:
Otis Redding was an influential American singer, songwriter, and record producer known for his soulful and emotive vocal style. Born on September 9, 1941, in Dawson, Georgia, Redding began his music career in the early 1960s and rose to fame in the mid-1960s with hits like "Respect" and "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay." He was a prominent figure in the development of soul music and is often referred to as the "King of Soul."


Redding's career was tragically cut short when he died in a plane crash on December 10, 1967, at the age of 26. Despite his untimely death, his music continues to be celebrated and has had a lasting impact on the music industry. Redding was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.
