OutKast is an American hip hop duo formed in 1992 in East Point, Georgia, consisting of André 3000 (André Benjamin) and Big Boi (Antwan Patton). They are known for their innovative and eclectic musical style, blending elements of hip hop, funk, soul, and rock. OutKast gained widespread recognition with their second album, "ATLiens," released in 1996, and achieved mainstream success with their third album, "Aquemini," released in 1998.
Their fourth album, "Stankonia," released in 2000, included the hit singles "Ms. Jackson" and "B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad)" and won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. OutKast's most successful album, "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below," released in 2003, was a double album featuring solo projects from André 3000 and Big Boi. It spawned the hit singles "Hey Ya!" and "Roses" and won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, making OutKast the first hip hop act to win the prestigious award.
