Artist Bio:
Paper Lace is a British pop band that rose to fame in the 1970s. The band was formed in Nottingham, England in 1967 and initially started as a covers band before transitioning to recording their own original music. They are best known for their hit single "Billy Don't Be a Hero," which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and number 96 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States in 1974. The song was a major success for the band and helped establish them as a prominent group in the pop music scene.

In addition to "Billy Don't Be a Hero," Paper Lace also had other chart-topping hits such as "The Night Chicago Died" and "Hitchin' a Ride." The band continued to release music throughout the 1970s, but they were unable to replicate the success of their early hits. Despite their brief moment in the spotlight, Paper Lace remains a notable band from the 1970s pop music era.
