Founded in North Carolina in 2001, Parmalee consists of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas, their cousin Barry Knox, and childhood friend Josh McSwain. The band's country-rock sound garnered attention in the mid-2000s, leading to a record deal with Stoney Creek Records. Parmalee's breakthrough came with their hit single "Carolina" in 2013, which peaked at No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart.
With influences ranging from Southern rock to traditional country, Parmalee continued to make waves in the country music scene. Their single "Close Your Eyes" off the album "Feels Like Carolina" enjoyed success on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, reaching No. 69 in 2014. Parmalee's energetic performances and heartfelt lyrics have solidified their place as a prominent force in contemporary country music.
