Patti Drew is an American R&B and soul singer who was born on December 29, 1944, in Nashville, Tennessee. She is best known for her hit single "Workin' on a Groovy Thing," which was released in 1968 and reached the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Drew began her music career as a member of her family's gospel group, The Drew Singers, before pursuing a solo career in the 1960s. In addition to "Workin' on a Groovy Thing," she also had other charting singles such as "Tell Him" and "Hard to Handle." Patti Drew's soulful voice and dynamic stage presence earned her a dedicated following in the music industry during the 1960s and 1970s.
