Patti LaBelle And The Blue Belles was an American vocal group formed in the early 1960s. The group's original members included Patti LaBelle, Nona Hendryx, Sarah Dash, and Cindy Birdsong. They gained popularity with their soulful and gospel-influenced R&B sound. In 1970, Cindy Birdsong left the group to join The Supremes, and was replaced by new member, Cindy Birdsong. The group continued to perform and release music under the name Labelle, achieving success with hits like "Lady Marmalade."
In the mid-1970s, Patti LaBelle pursued a solo career, and the group disbanded. However, the members occasionally reunited for special performances. Patti LaBelle And The Blue Belles were known for their powerful vocals, harmonies, and dynamic stage presence, making them influential figures in the R&B and soul music scene of the 1960s and 1970s.
