Patti LaBelle And The Blue Belles was an American female vocal group formed in the early 1960s. The group originally consisted of Patti LaBelle, Nona Hendryx, Sarah Dash, and Cindy Birdsong. They were known for their soulful and powerful vocal harmonies, blending elements of doo-wop, R&B, and pop music.
The group achieved moderate success in the 1960s with hits like "I Sold My Heart to the Junkman" and "Down the Aisle (The Wedding Song)". In the late 1960s, Cindy Birdsong left the group to join The Supremes, and she was replaced by a series of other singers. Patti LaBelle eventually embarked on a successful solo career in the 1970s, while Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash also pursued solo endeavors. Patti LaBelle And The Blue Belles were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2002, recognizing their contributions to the music industry.
