Artist Bio:
Patti LaBelle and the Blue Belles were an American vocal group formed in the early 1960s. The original lineup consisted of Patti LaBelle, Nona Hendryx, Sarah Dash, and Cindy Birdsong. They were known for their soulful R&B sound and tight vocal harmonies. The group achieved moderate success in the 1960s with hits like "I Sold My Heart to the Junkman" and "Down the Aisle."

In the late 1960s, Cindy Birdsong left the group to join The Supremes, and the remaining members continued as a trio. In the early 1970s, they changed their name to Labelle and shifted towards a more rock and funk-inspired sound. Patti LaBelle went on to achieve great success as a solo artist, while Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash also pursued solo careers and collaborated with other artists. Patti LaBelle and the Blue Belles were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999.
