Patti Page, born Clara Ann Fowler on November 8, 1927, was an American singer and actress. She was best known for her distinctive voice and hits such as "Tennessee Waltz" and "How Much is That Doggie in the Window?" Page was one of the top-selling female artists of the 1950s and was the best-selling female artist of that decade. She was also the first singer to have her vocal performances broadcast in stereophonic sound. Page's career spanned over seven decades, and she was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2013.
Page was a versatile artist who excelled in various genres, including pop, country, and traditional pop music. She was known for her smooth and soothing vocal style, which earned her the nickname "The Singin' Rage." Page released over 50 albums during her career and continued to perform and record music well into her later years. She passed away on January 1, 2013, in Encinitas, California, at the age of 85.
