Paul Simon is an American singer-songwriter and musician born on October 13, 1941, in Newark, New Jersey. He rose to fame as one half of the folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, alongside Art Garfunkel. The duo produced hits such as "The Sound of Silence," "Mrs. Robinson," and "Bridge Over Troubled Water."
After the duo split in 1970, Paul Simon embarked on a successful solo career, releasing albums that showcased his eclectic musical influences, from folk and rock to world music and reggae. Some of his well-known solo works include "Graceland" and "Rhythm of the Saints." Paul Simon is a highly acclaimed artist, having won multiple Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for "Graceland." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist in 2001 and as part of Simon & Garfunkel in 1990.
