Peggy Lee, born Norma Deloris Egstrom on May 26, 1920, was an American jazz and popular music singer, songwriter, composer, and actress. She was known for her distinctive voice and sultry singing style, which helped her become one of the best-selling female artists of her time. Lee's career spanned over six decades, during which she released numerous hit songs and albums, including "Fever," "Is That All There Is?," and "Why Don't You Do Right?"


In addition to her successful music career, Peggy Lee also appeared in several films and television shows, earning an Academy Award nomination for her role in the 1955 film "Pete Kelly's Blues." Lee was a versatile artist who excelled in various genres, from jazz and pop to blues and traditional pop. She was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1995. Peggy Lee passed away on January 21, 2002, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of music.
