Peggy Lee, born Norma Deloris Egstrom on May 26, 1920, was an American jazz and popular music singer, songwriter, composer, and actress. She had a career that spanned over six decades, during which she released over 50 studio albums and received numerous awards and accolades. Lee is best known for her distinctive voice, which had a smoky and sultry quality, and her smooth and sophisticated singing style. Some of her most famous songs include "Fever," "Is That All There Is?," and "Why Don't You Do Right?"


In addition to her successful music career, Lee also had a notable acting career, appearing in several films and television shows. She was also a talented songwriter, penning many of her own songs. Lee was known for her versatility as an artist, successfully crossing over between jazz, pop, and other genres. She passed away on January 21, 2002, leaving behind a lasting legacy as one of the greatest female vocalists of the 20th century.
