Perry Como was an American singer and television personality who was born on May 18, 1912, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Known for his smooth baritone voice, Como rose to fame in the 1940s and 1950s with hits like "Till the End of Time," "Catch a Falling Star," and "Magic Moments." He was one of the most popular entertainers of his time, selling millions of records and hosting his own television show, "The Perry Como Show," which ran from 1948 to 1963.
Throughout his career, Como won numerous awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002. He was also inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame and the Television Hall of Fame. Como passed away on May 12, 2001, at the age of 88, leaving behind a legacy of timeless music and a reputation as one of the most beloved crooners in American music history.
