Perry Como was an American singer and television personality who was born on May 18, 1912, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. He began his career as a professional singer in the 1930s and went on to become one of the most popular vocalists of his time. Como's smooth, relaxed singing style earned him numerous hits, including "Catch a Falling Star," "Magic Moments," and "It's Impossible."


Throughout his career, Como won multiple awards, including three Grammy Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award. He also hosted a successful television variety show, "The Perry Como Show," which aired from 1948 to 1963. Como was known for his warm and friendly persona, which endeared him to audiences and helped him maintain popularity for several decades. Perry Como passed away on May 12, 2001, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of music and entertainment.
