They also had other hits such as "I Go to Pieces" and "Lady Godiva."
Peter and Gordon were part of the British Invasion, a wave of British rock and pop music that became popular in the United States in the 1960s. They were known for their close harmonies and catchy melodies. The duo disbanded in 1968, with Peter Asher going on to have a successful career as a music producer and manager, working with artists such as James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt. Gordon Waller continued to perform as a solo artist until his death in 2009.
