Peter Brown is a British contemporary artist known for his realistic urban landscape paintings. He was born in 1967 in Reading, England, and studied at Manchester Polytechnic and the Royal Academy Schools. Brown primarily works in oil paint, creating detailed and atmospheric depictions of city scenes, capturing the energy and vibrancy of everyday life. His paintings often feature bustling streets, historic architecture, and changing light and weather conditions.
Brown has received numerous awards for his work, including the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize in 2018 and the Prince of Wales Award for Portrait Drawing in 2002. He is a member of the New English Art Club and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
