Peter Cetera is an American singer, songwriter, and bassist, best known as the lead vocalist for the rock band Chicago from 1968 to 1985. He was born on September 13, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois. Cetera's distinctive tenor voice and songwriting contributions were prominent in Chicago's success during the 1970s and early 1980s. He sang on many of the band's biggest hits, including "If You Leave Me Now," "Hard to Say I'm Sorry," and "You're the Inspiration."
After leaving Chicago in 1985, Cetera pursued a successful solo career, releasing several albums that included hits such as "Glory of Love" and "The Next Time I Fall." He also collaborated with other artists, including Cher on the duet "After All." Cetera was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Chicago in 2016.
