Peter, Paul & Mary was a folk music trio composed of Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey, and Mary Travers. The group was formed in the early 1960s and became one of the most successful folk music acts of the decade. They are known for their close vocal harmonies and socially conscious lyrics, often singing about topics such as civil rights, peace, and the environment.
Some of their most popular songs include "Blowin' in the Wind," written by Bob Dylan, and "Puff, the Magic Dragon." Peter, Paul & Mary's music was influential in the folk music revival of the 1960s and they were also involved in various political and social causes. The trio continued to perform and record music together until Mary Travers' death in 2009. Their legacy lives on through their timeless music and contributions to the folk music genre.
