Peter, Paul & Mary was an American folk group formed in 1961 in New York City. The trio consisted of Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey, and Mary Travers. They were known for their vocal harmonies and socially conscious lyrics, and they were key figures in the folk music revival of the 1960s. Some of their most popular songs include "Puff, the Magic Dragon," "Blowin' in the Wind," and "Leaving on a Jet Plane."
Peter, Paul & Mary achieved great commercial success, with several of their albums reaching the top 10 on the Billboard charts. They were also known for their activism, using their music to support causes such as civil rights, peace, and environmental conservation. The trio continued to perform and record together until Mary Travers' death in 2009.
