Peter Wolf is an American musician and artist best known as the lead vocalist of the J. Geils Band, a rock band formed in the 1960s. He was born on March 7, 1946, in the Bronx, New York. Wolf's distinctive voice and energetic stage presence contributed to the band's success, and they achieved commercial fame with hits like "Centerfold" and "Love Stinks." The J. Geils Band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.


After the J. Geils Band disbanded in the mid-1980s, Peter Wolf embarked on a solo career, releasing several albums that showcased his eclectic musical influences, including rock, blues, and soul. In addition to his music career, Wolf is also a visual artist, with his paintings and drawings often reflecting his passion for music and American culture.
