Plastic Bertrand, born as Roger Allen François Jouret on February 24, 1954, is a Belgian musician, songwriter, and producer. He is best known for his hit single "Ça plane pour moi," released in 1977, which became an international success and is considered a classic of the punk/new wave genre. Despite the song's popularity, there was controversy surrounding Plastic Bertrand's involvement in its creation, as it was later revealed that he did not actually sing on the track.
Plastic Bertrand continued to release music throughout the 1980s and 1990s, experimenting with different styles such as pop, rock, and electronic music. He also worked as a television presenter and actor in Belgium. In 2010, Plastic Bertrand admitted to not singing on "Ça plane pour moi" but maintained that he was the creative force behind the song. Despite the controversy, Plastic Bertrand remains a significant figure in the history of Belgian music.
