Player was a British rock band formed in 1977 in London. The band consisted of Peter Beckett (vocals, guitar), John Friesen (bass), Ronn Moss (vocals, bass), and John Charles Crowley (drums). Their most well-known hit single was "Baby Come Back," released in 1977, which reached the top of the charts in the United States and Canada. The song was written by Peter Beckett and J.C. Crowley. Player released three studio albums in the late 1970s and early 1980s, including their self-titled debut album in 1977. The band disbanded in the early 1980s but reunited in the 2000s for occasional performances and recordings.


Despite their brief time in the spotlight, Player left a lasting legacy with their hit song "Baby Come Back," which remains a classic on rock and pop radio stations.
