Poison is an American rock band formed in 1983 in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Bret Michaels, guitarist Matt Smith, bassist Bobby Dall, and drummer Rikki Rockett. Poison rose to fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their glam metal sound and catchy anthems. They achieved commercial success with their second album, "Open Up and Say... Ahh!" which was released in 1988 and featured hit singles like "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and "Nothin' but a Good Time."
Poison has sold over 45 million records worldwide and continues to tour and perform live. They were a prominent figure in the glam metal scene and are considered one of the best-selling bands of the 1980s.
