Polly Bergen was an American actress, singer, and television host. She was born on July 14, 1930, in Knoxville, Tennessee, and passed away on September 20, 2014, in Southbury, Connecticut. Bergen began her career as a singer and went on to have a successful acting career in both film and television. She received an Emmy Award for her role in the miniseries "The Winds of War" in 1983.
In addition to her acting work, Polly Bergen also released several albums as a singer, with her most successful album being "Polly and Her Pop" in 1959. She also had her own variety show, "The Polly Bergen Show," which aired in the 1950s. Bergen was known for her versatility as an entertainer and her ability to excel in various aspects of the performing arts.
