Artist Bio:
The Poni-Tails were an American girl group formed in 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio. The group consisted of members Toni Cistone, Patti McCabe, and LaVerne Novak. They were signed to the small record label Point Records and achieved their biggest success with their debut single "Born Too Late" in 1958. The song reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became their only top 40 hit.
The Poni-Tails released a few more singles but were unable to replicate the success of "Born Too Late". The group disbanded in 1960 after a short-lived career in the music industry. Despite their brief time in the spotlight, the Poni-Tails remain a notable part of the history of girl groups in the late 1950s.
