Artist Bio:
The Pretenders are a British-American rock band formed in 1978 in Hereford, England. The band was founded by lead vocalist and songwriter Chrissie Hynde, along with guitarist James Honeyman-Scott, bassist Pete Farndon, and drummer Martin Chambers. Their music is a blend of punk rock, new wave, and pop rock, characterized by Hynde's distinctive vocal delivery and introspective lyrics.
The Pretenders achieved commercial success with hits like "Brass in Pocket," "Back on the Chain Gang," and "Don't Get Me Wrong." They have released a total of 11 studio albums, with their self-titled debut album in 1980 being the most successful, reaching number 1 in the UK charts. Despite several lineup changes over the years and the tragic deaths of Honeyman-Scott and Farndon, Chrissie Hynde has remained the driving force behind the band, which continues to tour and record new music.
