Artist Bio:
The Pretenders are a British-American rock band formed in Hereford, England in 1978. The band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Chrissie Hynde, lead guitarist James Honeyman-Scott, bassist Pete Farndon, and drummer Martin Chambers. They achieved commercial success with their self-titled debut album in 1980, which featured hits like "Brass in Pocket" and "Stop Your Sobbing."

Over the years, the band has experienced several lineup changes due to the deaths of Honeyman-Scott and Farndon. Despite these challenges, Chrissie Hynde has remained the driving force behind the band, which continues to release new music and tour extensively. The Pretenders have received critical acclaim for their unique blend of punk, new wave, and rock music, and they have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
