Artist Bio:
The Pretenders are a British-American rock band formed in Hereford, England in 1978. The band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Chrissie Hynde, lead guitarist James Honeyman-Scott, bassist Pete Farndon, and drummer Martin Chambers. They are known for their distinctive sound, blending elements of punk rock and new wave with a touch of pop sensibility.

The Pretenders achieved commercial success with hit songs like "Brass in Pocket," "Back on the Chain Gang," and "Don't Get Me Wrong." Over the years, the band has gone through several lineup changes due to the deaths of Honeyman-Scott and Farndon, but Hynde has remained the driving force behind the group. The Pretenders have released several critically acclaimed albums and have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
