Prince Buster, born Cecil Bustamente Campbell in 1938 in Kingston, Jamaica, was a pioneering Jamaican musician and producer. He is considered one of the founding fathers of ska music, a precursor to reggae. Buster was not only a talented singer and songwriter but also a key figure in the development of the Jamaican music industry in the 1960s. He was known for his energetic stage presence and distinctive vocal style, which helped him gain popularity both in Jamaica and internationally.


In addition to his musical contributions, Prince Buster was also a successful record producer, founding the record label Prince Buster Records. He played a significant role in popularizing ska music in the UK, influencing the British ska and reggae scenes of the 1970s and 1980s. Prince Buster's impact on the music industry can still be felt today, as his music continues to be celebrated and his influence on subsequent generations of musicians remains strong.
