Prince, born Prince Rogers Nelson on June 7, 1958, was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. He was known for his innovative music style that combined a wide range of genres including funk, rock, R&B, and pop. Prince released his debut album, "For You," in 1978 and went on to achieve worldwide fame with albums such as "Purple Rain," "Sign o' the Times," and "1999." He was a prolific artist, releasing over 30 albums during his career.
Throughout his career, Prince won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score for the film "Purple Rain." He was also known for his flamboyant stage presence and unique fashion sense. Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. He passed away on April 21, 2016, at the age of 57.
