Artist Bio:
Ral Donner was an American singer and songwriter born in Chicago in 1943. He gained popularity in the early 1960s as an Elvis Presley sound-alike, often dubbed as a "sound-alike king." Donner's deep, rich voice and vocal style were strikingly similar to Presley's, leading to comparisons between the two artists.
Donner's most successful song was "You Don't Know What You've Got (Until You Lose It)," which reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1961. He also had other notable hits such as "She's Everything (I Wanted You to Be)" and "Please Don't Go." Despite his undeniable talent and success, Donner's career was overshadowed by his likeness to Presley, making it challenging for him to establish his own unique identity as an artist. Ral Donner passed away in 1984 at the age of 41, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most notable Elvis Presley imitators of his time.
