Donner's career took off in the early 1960s with hits like "You Don't Know What You've Got (Until You Lose It)" and "She's Everything (I Wanted You to Be)." Despite his success, Donner was unable to replicate the same level of chart success in the following years. He continued to perform and record music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, eventually passing away on April 6, 1984, at the age of 41.
