Raphael Saadiq is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on May 14, 1966, in Oakland, California. Saadiq began his music career as a member of the R&B group Tony! Toni! Toné! in the late 1980s, where he played bass guitar and served as the lead vocalist. The group found commercial success with hits like "Feels Good" and "Anniversary."
After the group disbanded in the late 1990s, Saadiq embarked on a solo career, releasing several critically acclaimed albums such as "Instant Vintage" and "The Way I See It." He is known for his soulful voice, retro-inspired sound, and ability to blend elements of R&B, funk, and jazz into his music. Saadiq has also collaborated with many artists across various genres, including D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, and Mary J. Blige. His work has earned him numerous awards and nominations, including several Grammy Awards.
