Rare Earth is an American rock band that was formed in 1969 in Detroit, Michigan. They are best known for their hit single "Get Ready," which peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1970. The band's sound is characterized by a blend of rock, soul, and funk, and they were one of the first all-white bands signed to Motown Records. Rare Earth was known for their energetic live performances and lengthy instrumental jams.
In addition to "Get Ready," Rare Earth also had other successful singles such as "I Just Want to Celebrate" and "Hey Big Brother." The band released a total of 12 studio albums, with their most recent album being released in 2008. Despite various lineup changes over the years, Rare Earth has continued to perform and tour, maintaining a dedicated fan base.
