Rare Earth is an American rock band associated with Motown Records, known for their mix of rock, blues, and funk music. The band was formed in 1969 in Detroit, Michigan, and is best known for their hit single "Get Ready," which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1970. Rare Earth was the first all-white band signed to Motown, and they were known for their energetic live performances.
In addition to "Get Ready," Rare Earth had other charting singles, including "I Just Want to Celebrate" and "Hey Big Brother." The band released several albums throughout the 1970s, with their music often featuring extended jams and a psychedelic rock influence.
