He is considered one of the pioneers of soul music and helped to integrate R&B, gospel, and blues into his unique sound. Throughout his career, Ray Charles released numerous hit songs, including "What'd I Say," "Georgia on My Mind," and "Hit the Road Jack." He received multiple Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In addition to his musical achievements, Charles was also a civil rights activist and philanthropist. He passed away on June 10, 2004, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of music.
