Ray Charles was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist who was born on September 23, 1930, in Albany, Georgia, and passed away on June 10, 2004, in Beverly Hills, California. He was a pioneer in the genre of soul music and is often referred to as "The Genius" for his innovative contributions to music. Ray Charles was blind from childhood due to glaucoma, but this did not hinder his musical talent. He fused elements of jazz, gospel, and rhythm and blues to create a unique sound that resonated with audiences worldwide.


Throughout his career, Ray Charles released numerous hit songs, including "What'd I Say," "Georgia on My Mind," and "I Can't Stop Loving You." He received multiple Grammy Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987. Ray Charles also won nine competitive Grammys during his career. In addition to his musical achievements, he was a civil rights activist and played a significant role in breaking down racial barriers in the music industry.
