He became one of the pioneers of soul music by blending elements of rhythm and blues, gospel, and blues. Charles overcame blindness at a young age to become a successful musician, known for hits such as "Hit the Road Jack," "Georgia on My Mind," and "I Can't Stop Loving You."


Throughout his career, Ray Charles won 17 Grammy Awards and received numerous accolades for his contributions to music. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987. Ray Charles passed away on June 10, 2004, leaving behind a lasting legacy as a musical innovator and one of the greatest artists in American music history.
