Artist Bio:
Ray Peterson (1939-2005) was an American singer known for his hit songs in the early 1960s. He was born in Denton, Texas, and began his music career in the late 1950s. Peterson's most famous song, "Tell Laura I Love Her," was released in 1960 and reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The tragic ballad tells the story of a young man who dies in a car race, leaving behind a message for his girlfriend, Laura.

In addition to "Tell Laura I Love Her," Ray Peterson had other charting songs such as "Corrina, Corrina" and "The Wonder of You." His music style was a mix of rock and roll, pop, and country, and he was admired for his emotional vocal delivery. Despite his early success, Peterson's popularity declined in the mid-1960s, and he eventually retired from the music industry. He passed away in 2005 at the age of 65.
