Ray Peterson was an American singer popular in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He was born on April 23, 1939, in Denton, Texas, and began his music career in high school by performing in talent shows. Peterson's most successful song was "Tell Laura I Love Her," released in 1960, which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He also had other hits such as "Corrine, Corrina" and "The Wonder of You."
Despite his initial success, Peterson's popularity waned in the mid-1960s, and he took a break from the music industry. He made a comeback in the 1970s, recording country music. Ray Peterson passed away on January 25, 2005, at the age of 65. His legacy lives on through his music, particularly his hit songs from the early part of his career.
