Ray Stevens is an American country and pop singer-songwriter, best known for his novelty songs and comedic music. He was born Harold Ray Ragsdale on January 24, 1939, in Clarkdale, Georgia. Stevens began his music career in the 1950s as a session musician before achieving success as a solo artist in the 1960s and 1970s.


Stevens has released over 45 albums throughout his career and has won multiple Grammy Awards for his work. Some of his most well-known songs include "The Streak," "Gitarzan," and "Everything is Beautiful." In addition to his music career, Stevens has also appeared in various television shows and films. He continues to perform and record music, showcasing his unique blend of humor and musical talent.
