Red Rockers were an American rock band formed in New Orleans in 1979. The band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist John Thomas Griffith, guitarist James Singletary, bassist Darren Hill, and drummer Jim Reilly. Red Rockers gained popularity in the early 1980s with their energetic live performances and a sound that blended punk rock with new wave influences.
Their most well-known single, "China," was released in 1983 and became a hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. The band's debut album, "Condition Red," was also released in 1983. Red Rockers disbanded in the late 1980s after releasing a total of three albums. Despite their relatively short-lived career, Red Rockers left a lasting impact on the rock music scene of the 1980s.
