Rick and the Keens were an American doo-wop group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group was formed in the late 1950s and consisted of Rick Sheppard as the lead singer, along with other members such as Norman Burnett, Norman Thrasher, and Robert Burnett. They were signed to the Chancellor Records label and released their most well-known single "Peanuts" in 1961. The song was a moderate hit, reaching number 66 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Despite their limited commercial success, Rick and the Keens are remembered as a one-hit wonder in the doo-wop genre.
